What grades do you offer?
We currently offer classes for students from TK through 8th grade.
Where is your school located?
The Treehouse Academy is located in Point Loma in the Arts District at Liberty Station. Our Studios are located at 2640 Historic Decatur Road.
Our Carlsbad studios are located at 3150 Pio Pico Drive, Suite 200.
How much is tuition?
Tuition for the Sprout Studio is $13,475 per year. The Discovery Studio and Journey Studio are both $15,125 per year.
What do you mean by learner driven?
Our students are given the tools to take responsibility for their own education. When something isn’t working, we want our students to work together to solve the problem, rather than relying on an adult to step in. This creates a culture of leadership and excellence.
Is The Treehouse Academy a Montessori School?
We respect and incorporate much of Maria Montessori’s philosophy, but we are not a Montessori school. We take inspiration from Reggio Emilia and Waldorf as well.
How is technology used in the classroom?
At Treehouse, we prioritize hands-on exploration and face to face learning. TK through 1st Grade students do not use technology. When students transition to the Discovery Studio, they receive a Chromebook for use in adaptive math, and a supplemental reading program. Technology is used in a responsible and age-appropriate manner.
How long is the school day?
Students between the ages of 4 years 9 months and 7 years meet in our Sprout Studio from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm.
Students between the ages of 7 and 11 meet in our Discovery Studio from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm.
Students between the ages of 11 and 14 meet in our Journey Studio from 8:30 to 3:00 pm.
How long is The Treehouse Academy in session each year and what is the school calendar?
We operate on a 11-month calendar, with extended breaks throughout the year. This allows families the freedom and flexibility to travel without missing out on learning.
Will children be grouped by grades?
Children are grouped into three studios, 4 years and 9 months to 7 years old, 7 to 11 years old, and 11 to 14 years old. Children learn best when they are working with those older and younger than themselves.
Is there after school care?
Yes, we offer after school care until 5:00 pm for $30 per day.
What is the teacher-to-student ratio
Each class will have a maximum of 15 students per guide.
Are vaccines required for my child to attend?
No. We leave the decision to be vaccinated up to you and your family. All are welcome at The Treehouse Academy.
Do you offer any 2- or 3-day per week options?
No. Students are expected to attend every day in order to build the bonds and camaraderie that make The Treehouse Academy so special.
